CULTURE OF SAVINGS:Police Chief Supt.Leopoldo Bataoil, Ilocos Region police director, led in the distribution of piggy banks to these students at the West Central School in Dagupan City last July 16,2007. HONORIS CAUSA:Mrs. Gina de Venecia, wife of House Speaker Jose de Venecia, Jr., is conferred with Doctor of Humanities honoris causa by the Pangasinan State University(PSU) in Lingayen, Pangasinan last July 20, 2007 at the convention hall of the said school.Conferring her are Dr.Victoriano Estira, PSU president; Hon.Carlito Puno, chair of the Commission on Higher Education(CHED), and other officials. SAN ROQUE DAM: The mega San Roque Dam project in San Manuel, Pangasinan. The dam is one of the largest dams in Southeast Asia. San Roque Dam reduced the perennial flooding in at least 16 towns in Pangasinan and Tarlac provinces. It also generates more than 300 megawatt of electricity for the Luzon grid.The dam catches the excess waters from the Ambuklao and Binga Dams in Benguet.CESAR S. RAMIREZ
